Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's College Special Events Office today announced that there is limited space available for golfers wishing to participate in the Southern California Gael Classic Golf Tournament on April 26. The tournament will be held at Candlewood Country Club in Whittier. Entry fees are $900 per foursome, $225 per individual golfer, and $175 for G.O.L.D. alumni (classes of 1994-2004). All proceeds benefit the Gael Athletics Scholarship Fund.
The tournament is held each year in memory of Brother Jerome West, FSC. A 1940 graduate of the College, Brother Jerome actively promoted a strong sports program for make a female student-athletes for several years, and he was the moderator of the men's basketball team. Brother Jerome was elected to the Saint Mary's College Athletics Hall of Fame in recognition of his dedication and friendship to generations of student-athletes. A lifelong athlete himself, Brother Jerome was an ambassador teacher and mentor who exemplified the Lasallian spirit.
