Moraga, CA - Saint Mary's College junior football player Bryan Vargas passed away in his Lafayette apartment on Friday morning. He was a three-year member of the football team and was highly respected and well liked by his peers and coaches.
"All of us in the Saint Mary's College football family and community are devastated by the death of Bryan," commented head coach Tim Landis. "He meant so much to so many people. He was an ideal teammate and a complete joy to coach, and he always placed the team before himself. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bryan's family and friends, he will be missed deeply."
A memorial service for Bryan will be held at Lompoc High School on Wednesday, March 27. The service will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will take place in the high school's gymnasium.
There will be an additional memorial service held in the Saint Mary's Chapel on Wednesday, April 3 at 7:00 p.m.
