Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's College student community will host the 2nd annual Carnival-4-Kids on Friday, April 23. The Carnival-4-Kids will begin at 3:30 p.m. and run until 7:00 p.m. in the Ferroggiaro quad near the SMC Bookstore. This year, 12 non-profit youth organizations from the Oakland area will participate in the event, which is four more than last year. More than 300 kids are expected to attend this year's Carnival-4-Kids.
Saint Mary's College and its students will provide Big Buddies, 40 carnival booths, activities, free food, entertainment, and over three hours of absolute fun! By fostering a culture of service, we promote our Lasallian tradition within our college community.
Participating in this year's event will be 10 of the 14 athletic teams. Eight athletic teams and the Saint Mary's spirit team will host activity booths and the women's volleyball and women's rowing teams will participate as big buddies for the kids attending the event.
Athletic sponsored booths are:
Baseball Radar Gun Ball Toss
Men's and Women's Cross Country Relay Races
Men's Basketball Free Throw Shooting
Men's Soccer Soccer Tic-Tac-Toe
Spirit Team Musical Chairs
Women's Basketball 2 on 2 Basketball Games
Women's Lacrosse Lacrosse Stick and Ball Toss
Women's Soccer Soccer Obstacle Course and Shooting
Prizes will be given to all kids participating in the carnival. Prizes include, but not limited to: Saint Mary's Carnival-4-Kids tee-shirts, SMC water bottles, sports key chains, and inflatable balls, to name a few.
Last year, the Carnival-4-Kids hosted more than 250 children from eight non-profit organizations from the Oakland, CA area. At the first annual Carnival-4-Kids the Men's and Women's Tennis, Men's Soccer, Football, and the women's soccer hosted booths last year.
This is a great event for all to benefit the community and in creating a day for the kids. The Carnival-4-Kids is not a public event and participation is by invitation only.
