About:
The Saint Mary's College Spirit Team is a combination team of dance and cheer. The Saint Mary's Spirit Team seeks to promote Gael pride and spirit around the Saint Mary's campus and throughout the community. As SMC spirit members, these student-athletes demonstrate their talents at numerous athletic and promotional events. The Saint Mary's Spirit Team members have a wide range of talents including various styles of dance, stunt, cheer and gymnastics. Each Spirit Team member contributes a great deal of time and energy to achieve excellence in academics while supporting Saint Mary's Athletics and the entire Saint Mary's community.
Spirit Team Expectations:
The Spirit Team is expected to attend all practices, games and events assigned. They travel with the men's and women's basketball teams to the West Coast Conference tournament and NCAA tournament (when applicable). Because of the highly demanding schedule, members of the Spirit Team must be able to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5, balance and coordinate all schedules and potential missed class time. Members of the Spirit Team are seen as the face of the College and must emanate the mission of the College
