The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team is pleased to announce the return of four-year program alum Hannah Rapp as a member of the 2026-27 coaching staff for the Gaels.
“As a player, Hannah made a lasting impact through her competitiveness, work ethic, and commitment to her teammates”, said Cammon. “Those same qualities will make her an outstanding coach and mentor for our student-athletes. Her ability to connect with players, her knowledge of the game, and her passion for the university and program will be tremendous assets to our staff.”
Rapp was a four-year standout for the Gaels from 2020-2024 where she played in 106 games while combining for over 400 points scored on 43% shooting. Her breakout season in Moraga came during the 2022-23 campaign when she averaged seven points and over five rebounds per game over a career high 31 games played. Rapp concluded her collegiate career in 2025 as a graduate transfer at Santa Clara before making her professional debut for the Australian NBL1 Waverley Falcons in 2026. For the Falcons, Rapp played in 25 games while averaging 6.1 points and 5.4 rebounds this past season. The Melbourne native popped for a season high 20 points in an 85-82 victory over the Keilor Thunder back on June 21 and finished the season with three games over 15 points scored.
“Once a Gael, always a Gael”, stated Rapp. “Getting the opportunity to come back to the place that shaped me—not just as a player, but now as a coach—is something I’ll never take for granted. I’m so grateful to be home.”
Rapp will join the Gaels’ 2026-27 coaching staff along with newly hired assistant Michael Floyd. Floyd was Rapp’s head coach in her final year at Santa Clara during the 2024-25 campaign as the duo will link up once again here in Moraga.
