Biography
AS A SENIOR (2023-24): Played in 31 games and started in 21 for the Gaels averaging 24 minutes per game... Shot 44% from the field and scored a total of 98 points on the season... One of four players to record over 100 rebounds on the season, averaging 3.4 per game... Led the team with a career high 62 steals and also recorded 12 blocks... Recorded a season high 12 points to go along with six steals in a 570-58 defeat vs. Santa Clara... Recorded four games on the season with 5+ steals and had a season high 7 against NC A&T. Â
AS A JUNIOR (2022-23): Set career highs in games played (31), starts (28), assists (78), assists per game (2.5), steals (37), rebounds (124), and rebounds per game (4.0)... led the team in blocked shots with 30, which is tied for 10th in a single season at SMC... recorded three blocks in a game twice on the year, doing it back-to-game games in the regular season finale against Pacific (2/25/23) and in the first round of the WCC Tourney vs. LMU (3/2/23)... Led the team in steals with 37... Had three steals in a game on three different occasions, at Boise State (12/10/22), vs. LMU (1/5/23), and at LMU (2/4/23)... set a career-high in rebounds with 10 at Boise State (12/10/22)... tied a career-high in points in a game with 10 at San Jose State (12/1/22)... Established a career-high in assists (9) and minutes played in a game (34) at LMU (2/4/23).
AS A SOPHOMORE (2021-22): Played in 29 games and started in the semifinals of the Women's Basketball Invitational... Finished the season strong for the Gaels as a ball distributor, tallying four or more assists in her last four games, with a career-high five assists against Austin Peay and Cleveland State at the WBI... matched her career-high in scoring with a 10-point game vs. Pepperdine on 1/15/22 when she shot a season-high 2 for 2 from three-point range... hauled down a career-high six rebounds vs. Pacific on 2/24/22.
AS A FRESHMAN (2020-21): Appeared in the final 20 games of the season, averaging 16.9 minutes per game...shot 41.8% from the field and made six three-pointers, while going 71.4% from the free throw line (10-14)...was one of the most well-rounded Gaels on the stat sheet, finishing second on the team with 12 blocks, fifth on the team with 26 assists, and sixth on the team with 19 steals...averaged 3.6 points per game and 1.8 rebounds per game...made her collegiate debut in SMC's conference opener against Pacific on December 30 and made her first shot, a three-pointer...recorded a 10-point game for her career-best against San Diego on January 26, going 4-7 from the field...twice she tallied four rebounds and three steals in a game, including once on February 18 at LMU.
PRIOR TO SAINT MARY'S: Hanafin has played for the Dandenong Rangers since 2018...during her first season with the Rangers, Hanafin played in 18 games, with season-highs of 14 points and 10 assists on separate occasions...shot 45 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range...during 2019, Hanafin played in 13 games with one start, averaging 22 minutes per game...also a member of the Victoria Metro team that won a gold medal at the 2019 U18 National Championships held in Townsville where she shot 48 percent from the field, 72 percent from the free throw line, averaged 5.5 points and just over 4 assists per game.
