Biography

AS A GRAD STUDENT (2022-23): Played in 29 games with 27 starts while averaging 14.1 points per game... became just the 13th player all time – and third active – to make over 400 three pointers in their career... Made 400th three pointer in WCC Tournament opener against LMU on 3/2/23 and finished her career with 407 three pointers made... Tied her career high in three pointers in one game with 7 against San Diego on 1/28/23 for a season-high 25 points... also scored 25 points in WCC Tournament vs. LMU... Finished the season 84 of 206 (40.8) from downtown... Her 41.9% career three-point percentage is second all-time in program history, and is the best of any player with over 200 attempts at Saint Mary's... finished her Saint Mary's career with 1,740 points, for fifth all time in program history and just two points behind fourth-place Cheree Tappin... Her 143 games played and 3,986 minutes logged are second all-time in program history behind her former teammate Madeline Holland...Wedin remains the program's all-time leader in career free-throw percentage at 87.2%... Named All-WCC Second Team for the second-straight season... made the WCC All-Academic Team with a 3.733 GPA... was a Wooden Citizenship Cup Finalist in December for her community work with Team Impact in their fellowship program... named a participant in the the State Farm, College Slam 3-Point Championships, becoming the first Gael ever to compete in the event.

AS A SENIOR (2021-22): Appeared in 32 games with 30 starts and averaged a career-high 14.4 points per game... named to the All-WCC Second Team... became the Saint Mary's and WCC all-time leader in career three pointers made with 323 and surpassed her own WCC mark of threes made in a season of 104 with 106 three pointers made... tied the SMC three-point record at LMU on 1/29/22, set the program record vs. Santa Clara 2/3/22, and set the WCC record on 2/24/22 against Pacific... became the 25th player in program history to surpass 1,000 points in her career when she made a three pointer to break a 41-41 tie against Fresno State that sparked a 20-5 run in a game Saint Mary's won 81-69 and finished the year with 1,332 career points... set a new personal and WBI single-game record for three pointers made with seven on 15 attempts... scored 25 points in the WBI Championship for her 11th game of 20 or more points this season, averaged 22.7 points per game in the three tournament games, and shot an amazing 60% (18 of 30) from three-point range... her game-winning buzzer beater at Coastal Carolina made Sports Center's Top 10 on 12/15/22... went 34-straight games without a free throw miss stretching from November of 2020 to November of 2022.

AS A JUNIOR (2020-21):
Started all 25 games that she appeared in during her third season in Moraga, missing just one game to injury...led the Gaels in multiple categories, including minutes per game at 30.6 and points per game at 12.5...recorded a 40.1% field goal percentage and went 39% from downtown, leading Saint Mary's with 69 three-pointers made, the second-most in the WCC...did not miss a shot from the free throw line, going 29-29...tied a career-best by scoring 24 points as the Gaels beat LMU on January 23, where she also tied a career-best with six made three-pointers (named WCC Player of the Week after), and then hit six three-pointers again while scoring 22 points against San Diego on February 11...became the second Gael ever to hit 200 three-pointers when she hit a three-pointer on the final possession for SMC against San Diego on February 11... went a perfect 31 of 31 from the free throw line during the season... actively ranks second in program history in three-point percentage after three seasons...named All-WCC Honorable Mention for the second-consecutive season.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2019-20):
Appeared in all 31 games for the Gaels, and made the last 20 starts of the season for coach Paul Thomas…set the West Coast Conference record for three-pointers made in a single-season with 104, a mark that ranked fourth-best in the NCAA…ranked second in the NCAA in three-pointers per game with 3.35…in just two seasons, becomes the Saint Mary’s all-time leader in career 3FG% (43.4%)…21 times, Wedin made at least 3 three-pointers in a game, including a career-best 6 five times…put up a career-best 24 points as the Gaels beat 11th-ranked Gonzaga at home on February 8…was selected as the WCC Player of the Week on January 6 for the first time…named to the All-WCC team as an honorable mention honoree.

AS A FRESHMAN (2018-19):
Played in 26 games as a true freshman and recorded the third most three-pointers (44) on the team … Finished sixth in the conference in three-point field-goal percentage (.396) … Scored a career-high, 17 points twice during the season versus Loyola Marymount (Feb. 21) and Hawaii in the first round of the WNIT (March 22) … Grabbed four three-pointers for the first time in her career versus Cal Poly on Dec. 1 … Tallied a career-high three rebounds four different times throughout the season … Collected two steals twice during the year and notched one block on Jan. 3 against No. 17 Gonzaga.

PRIOR TO SAINT MARY'S: A two-time Northwest Oregon Conference (NWOC) Player of the Year and four-time First Team All-NWOC member, Wedin led La Salle Prep to four-straight NWOC Championships and did not lose a league game in her career. She averaged 21 points per game as a senior and eclipsed the 2,000 point mark during her final season for a total of 2,097 career points. Wedin was a two-time State Champion in 2015 and 2017, and she led La Salle to the Oregon 5A Final Four in each of her four seasons. She also earned First Team All State Tournament Team honors in each of her four seasons as a starter. An Oregon 5A First Team All-State selection in 2017 and 2018, and Second Team selection in 2015 & 2016, she capped off an impressive prep career as the 5A Oregon State Player of the Year in 2018. As a senior, she broke the Oregon all-time girls 3-point shooting record, hitting an incredible, 359 treys in her prep career. Wedin was nominated for the Prep Female Basketball Player of the Year award in 2018 by the Oregon Sports Awards committee and was selected as a McDonald’s All-American Games nominee the same season. Taycee chose SMC over offers from Clemson, Texas Tech, Washington, and Arizona.
