Albert Ahedo was named to the Women's Volleyball coaching staff as an assistant in January of 2021. This comes after Ahedo spent nearly three years on staff as an assistant for the Gaels, including during their 2018 NCAA Tournament appearance. 2024 will mark Ahedo's seventh season on staff for Saint Mary's Volleyball.Â
Ahedo handles a variety of roles for the indoor program, as well as serving as the Director of Operations for the beach volleyball program at Saint Mary's. He played a key role in the recruiting efforts to split the indoor and beach programs, which became effective for the 2023 beach season. He actively handles all compliance requirements for volleyball and helps plan visits with prospective student-athletes on their official visits.Â
Ahedo works closely with passers and defenders and technical development with attackers and blockers. During games, Ahedo is in charge of DataVolley and technical analytics while also presenting coaches with scouting reports.
Concurrent to his work at Saint Mary's, Ahedo was the head junior varsity and freshman boys head coach at Campolindo High School in Moraga for the 2019 season, where the team won the 2019 league championship.Â
Ahedo is a 2020 graduate of Saint Mary's College with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology - Exercise Science and completed on his Master's in Kinesiology in the Spring of 2023.
