Moraga, CA - Saint Mary's College head football coach Tim Landis announced the 2002 football schedule. Saint Mary's will open next season on the road at Montana State before returning to Saint Mary's Stadium for games against Sacramento State and Bucknell. The Gaels will then travel to Central Washington on October 21 before welcoming Western Washington for Homecoming on September 28. Two road games will follow at Humboldt State and Holy Cross, then Cal Poly will hit Saint Mary's Stadium on October 19. The final two road games of 2002 will be at Southern Utah and UC Davis on October 26 and November 2, respectively. Saint Mary's will close the season at home against Drake, as it did in 2000, on November 9.
"I'm very excited with the way the schedule turned out for next season," commented head coach Tim Landis. "I think we have a very competetive schedule that will challenge our team. We have a tough home schedule with the likes of Sacramento State, Bucknell and Cal Poly coming into Saint Mary's Stadium."
All the games schedule to be played in Saint Mary's Stadium will begin at 1:00 p.m. Some times for road games have not yet been decided.
