Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's men soccer team (6-10-1) defeated the University of San Francisco (7-10-1) by the score of 4-1 on Friday afternoon at Garaventa Field. Nick Marcum scored two goals and recorded one assist to help the Gaels snap an eight game losing streak.

Alex Avina got the Gaels on the scoreboard in the 11th minute with a goal from the right side, which was assisted by Marcum and Diego Rovira. Six minutes later it was Marcum who scored off an Avina assist to put Saint Mary's up 2-0. Gerard Hylkema narrowed the lead to 2-1 on an unassisted goal 41 minutes into the game for the Dons.

Saint Mary's dominated the second half of play, adding two more goals off a 9-1 shooting advantage. Rovira converted a penalty kick in the 58th minuted before Marcum capped the scoring with a goal at the 85:00 minute mark. Saint Mary's outshot the Dons 14-4 on the afternoon.

The Gaels will close out the season on Sunday when they host Gonzaga at noon while today's game marked the end of the season for the Dons.
