Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's women's tennis team (6-3) rolled to its first ever victory over UC Santa Barbara, 5-2, on Saturday. The Gaels earned the doubles point by winning two of three matches, then rolled off four victories in singles to get the win.

The number-two doubles team of Annie Wolford and Lindasy Herndon-Ortega defeated Chelsea Dillon and Shiho Fukushima 8-4 and Catalina Fillol and Megan Schulman won their doubles match at number-three 8-6.

Leading 1-0 heading into singles play, Saint Mary's dropped matches at number-one and number-two. Fillol would defeat Dillon at number three, in three sets, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2, to get the Gaels started. After Schulman lost the first set, 3-6, at number-four, she would go on to win the second set 6-4 and then win the third set super tiebreak, 10-5. Nicole Hunstock and Herndon-Ortega won in straight sets at number five and six.

Saint Mary's will return to action on Tuesday, February 19 when it hosts Hawaii at 3:00 p.m. at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex in Moraga.
