Jerkisha Dosty Named West Coast Conference Player of the Year

Moraga, CA - The 2001-02 West Coast Conference women's All-Conference team was announced today by the league office. Leading the honorees were senior sisters Jerkisha and Jermisha Dosty (Fair Oaks, CA), who were named to the All-Conference team. Jerkisha was honored as the WCC Player of the Year and Jermisha garnered the WCC Defensive Player of the Year award. The All-Conference selection for Jermisha is her third straight selection and Jerkisha garners the honor for the second straight season.
Honored as the 2002 WCC Player of the Year, Jerkisha garners the honor following her twin sister's selection last season. Jermisha and Jerkisha now become the only set of sibling to ever receive the Player of the Year honor in WCC basketball.
Jerkisha led the WCC in scoring at 18.1 points per game while scoring 20.7 points during WCC games. She led the team in scoring in 15 games while eclipsing the 20-point mark 10 times and scored in double-figures in 24-of-26 games. Kisha had 11 double-doubles this season, which was second in the conference. She also averaged 8.5 rebounds per game, which ranked third in the WCC.
Jermisha, the 2002 WCC Defender of the Year, averaged 11.6 rebounds per game to lead the WCC for the second straight season. She was even better in WCC games as she averaged an amazing 13.2 boards over the 14 game season. The 6-3 center averaged 15.9 points and shot a conference best 56.2 percent during WCC games. Her 14.4 points, for the season, ranked sixth in the WCC. Jermisha posted a conference-high 12 double doubles this season.
Junior forward Katie Davis (Manson, WA) was named to the All-Conference Honorable Mention team for the second straight season. The 6-2 sharp-shooter averaged 12.1 points for the season and in conference games. Davis shot 42.2 percent from the field and 43.9 percent from three-point range in the last 14 games of the season. Davis also garnered WCC All-Academic honors earlier this season.
