Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's women's lacrosse team posted an 18-5 victory over the Japanese Team on Monday, March 24. Colette Spencer scored three goals to lead the team as 13 players tallied at least one goal.

The Gaels opened the game with a 6-0 run to take a commanding lead 9:42 into the contest. After the team from Japan scored a the 11:07 mark, Saint Mary's added to its lead by scoring the next six goals to hold a 12-1 lead at halftime.

IN the second half, Japan scored the first goal of the session at the 37:10 mark. The Gaels then scored the next three goals, two by Spencer and one by Lauren Riggers to open the lead to 16-2 with just over 15 minutes remaining in the game. Japan added two more tallies before three more scores gave SMC an 18-4 advantage. Sachiyo Yamada scored her second goal at the 59:23 mark to lead her team in scoring.

Saint Mary's returns to action on Thursday, March 27 when it travels to Philadelphia, PA to take on Ohio University. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. The Gaels will then play at St. Joseph's on Saturday, March 29.
