WWP | Gaels Women’s Water Polo Continues to Build Roster with the Addition of Transfer Utility Player Irene Pueyo Caballero

MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's women's water polo has signed their most recent addition, transfer utility player Irene Pueyo Caballero.
The Barcelona, Spain native comes to the Gaels after spending a season at Long Beach City College. While there, Pueyo Caballero recorded 70 goals and 59 assists, ranking her third in goal scoring and first in assists in the South Coast Conference this past season. This helped the Vikings to a 40 win season and a CCCAA State Championship.
Pueyo Caballero spent time competing for Club Natació Atlètic Barceloneta. During her time there, her team won three gold medals and two bronze medals in the Spanish Championships, along with three gold medals and one silver medal at the Catalan Championships. The club ranked first in the Catalan League in 2020 and 2021 and second in 2022 and 2023. Pueyo Caballero and her team also placed fourth in the 2025 BWMF under-15 International Tournament, where she earned first team all-tournament recognition.
Pueyo Caballero joins a group of three transfers for the Gaels growing roster who will look to guide the team to success with their collegiate experience.
