Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's College men's and women's basketball and volleyball facility, McKeon Pavilion, underwent several major renovations this summer and Director of Athletics Mark Orr announced the completion of The Pavilion this afternoon.
The 3,500 seat Pavilion's lower bowl had a major overhaul, as chairback seats now await fans behind the team benches and solid navy blue bleachers await students across the way. Along with the lower bowl, the VIP section underwent several changes, including new leather seats, new carpet and fresh paint.
"Fans of the Gaels will be very pleased and comfortable when they attend a game at McKeon Pavilion," Orr said. "We are all excited to start the season and show off the many new changes."
A large navy blue banner now surrounds the playing court, which is very eye pleasing and will make for a fun atmosphere.
Along with several adjustments down below, fans will also be glad to hear some changes as well, as a new state-of-the-art sound system will be added for the start of men's and women's basketball games.
In addition to a new sound system, which will have The Pavilion rocking, lightning as also been increased for television and viewing pleasure.
Overall the athletic administration is very pleased with the completion of several huge projects that took place this summer and can't wait for the season to begin.
