Sacramento, CA - The Saint Mary's men's tennis team dropped their match against Sacramento State today by a final score of 6-1. Andre Sion recorded the lone point for the Gaels.
Sacramento State won the doubles point. Teammates Alp Ozpinar and Adam Fauvre and teammates Achim Christner and Joel Kusnierz both lost their doubles matches by a score of 8-2. Yury Platonov and Andre Sion won their doubles match 8-3. They improved to 3-0 as a doubles team.
The Gaels ran into a tough set of singles matches. Only Andre Sion was able to win his singles match for the Gaels today. He won his match 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8). Sion has won nine of 12 possible matches this season.
Kusnierx dropped his match 7-6(7-4), 6-2. Andrea Zannoni lost 6-3, 6-4. Fauvre dropped his match 6-3, 7-5. Platonov lost 6-4, 6-3. Christner dropped his match in three sets 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.
The Gaels look to right she ship on March 19 when they face off against Cornell University.
