Women's Tennis Improves to 4-0

Portland, OR - The Saint Mary's women's tennis team continued their winning ways on Saturday morning, defeating West Coast Conference member Gonzaga 7-0. The Gaels dominated the Bulldogs in singles action, posting a 5-0 sweep, while also going undefeated in doubles.

The closest match of the day occurred at the No. 1 position, as senior Jessica Hoath outlasted the Bulldogs' Emily Anderson, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. The other five singles matches were determined in two sets, with Marah Calvo, Nienke Strijbis, Feline Charlot, Stef Ordoveza, and Alex Poorta each posting wins.

Charlot dominated her opponent at the No. 6 position in her first performance of the year, taking down Gonzaga's Erin Humphry 6-1, 6-1. Strijbis and Calvo allowed their opponents to win only one game in their two set victories.

The Gaels finished with a 3-0 record while competing in Oregon over the weekend, as they picked-up the dual match wins against Oregon, Portland, and Gonzaga.

Saint Mary's returns to action in California against Stanford on Thursday, February 14 at 1:30 pm.
