Versus UC Riverside

In the first game of the day against the UC Riverside Highlanders, the Gaels scored in the first inning to go up 2-0, as Bergeson and Jenna Smith were both brought home on a Sandra Ruezga single down the left field line. The Highlanders countered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first, as Marissa Alvidrez hit a homerun over the left center fence.

Kayla Aldridge scored in the top of the second with the score tied 2-2, as Smith earned her first RBI of the day with a single down the left line. Bergeson did a stellar job in the circle for Saint Mary's, as she held the Highlanders scoreless from the second through the fifth inning.

The Highlanders scored in the bottom of the sixth to tie the score at 3-3, but a clutch play by Ruezga tabbed the Gaels' final run of the day, bringing in Smith on a double to centerfield. Bergeson went on to hold off UC Riverside's bats in the bottom of the seventh, earning her second win of the year, 4-3.

Versus Sacred Heart

Galloway took control in the circle of the next match-up, pitching a complete game and leading her team to a run-rule win over the Sacred Heart Pioneers, 9-0. The shutout was the senior's first of the year, while adding two strikeouts.

As a team the Gaels posted nine runs on 10 hits, while Bronwyn Russell recorded two runs, one hit, and three RBI. The run-rule was enforced as the Gaels held a 9-0 lead at the end of the sixth inning, while Saint Mary's posted four runs in the top of the sixth to finish their stellar offensive performance.
