
Baseball Adds Another for 2009

Moraga, CA - Saint Mary's baseball head coach Jedd Soto has added another talented player to his already impressive 2009 class. Drew Fisher, a transfer from Solano College, is a defensive standout at shortstop, and also brings a quality bat to help bolster the Gaels lineup.
Fisher is a proven winner, as he helped guide the Falcons to back-to-back Bay Valley Conference championships. As well as an appearance in the 2008 the Super Regionals, after compiling a record of 29-15/23-5 Bay Valley Conference. He started 38 games, hitting .326, collecting 42 hits, scoring 25 runs, with four doubles, and 21 runs batted in. He was in the top ten in every offensive category for the Falcons, and tops on the team with 18 sac bunts.
Defensively is where Fisher truly stands out, this season for the Falcons he tallied 105 assists, and 49 putouts. His 105 assists' were tops on the Falcons in 2008, and ranks among the tops in the Bay Valley Conference.
Fisher graduated from Benicia High School where he was a three-year letter winner in baseball. He was part of the 2006 team that won the Division II Sac Joaquin Section Title, and was voted the best defensive player in 2004 and 2006.
