Senior (2014): Closed out one of the finest careers in SMC volleyball history with another strong campaign in 2014 playing both at opposite and in the middle ... earned All-WCC honorable mention for averaging 2.93 kills and 1.03 blocks per set in 100 sets played ... was second on the team in kills with (293), kills per set and hitting percentage (.272) ... was the catalyst in SMC's first two WCC wins, totaling 36 kills (3.60 k/set) in wins over Portland and Gonzaga ... recorded career-high 21 kills at Gonzaga ... had a standout second week of the season, hitting .408 with 37 kills and 18 blocks in three matches played ... hit .591 with team-high 14 kills in home opener vs. UC Davis ... had 18 kills in win at San Diego.
Redshirt Junior (2013): Returned to the Gaels lineup and picked up where she left off as a key contributor in the middle ... Finished the season as the team leader in blocks (106), blocks per set (1.07) and ended the year with 138 kills ... had a monster weekend at the net in an early season trip to BYU and San Diego, registering nine blocks in each match and helping the Gaels knock off then-No. 8 San Diego ... also registered nine blocks at Pepperdine on Nov. 7 ... started the season particularly strong, combining for 17 kills and 10 blocks in two matches at Colorado ... return to McKeon Pavilion was a success as well as Loos totaled 17 kills combined in wins over Miami and Air Force ... reached double digit kills four times (Air Force, Dayton, Iowa State, Nebraska) ... Named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll Bronze list for carrying a GPA between 3.49 and 3.0.
Junior (2012): Did not play due to injury.
Sophomore (2011): One of four Gaels to play in all 113 sets which is tied for ninth most in a single-season in SMC history...finished the year with a career-high 216 kills...she was one of five Gaels to eclipse the 200 kill plateau...averaged 1.91 kills per set, hitting .213...tied with the team lead with 20 solo blocks...finished the year with 103 total blocks, averaging 0.91 blocks per set which was 10th in the WCC...hit .400 in back-to-back wins over BYU and No. 14 Pepperdine on 11/10 and 11/12...in the five-set win over Utah Valley on 9/15 she recorded seven solo blocks which is the second most in a single-match in SMC history, finished that match with a career-high 10 total blocks...recorded six total blocks and nine kills on 17 swings for a .353 hitting percentage in the win over No. 18 Duke on 9/2...posted a career-high 13 kills on 31 swings with four total blocks against No. 11 Nebraska on 9/9...in WCC action she was fifth on the team with 127 kills, averaging 2.02 kills per set...she hit .255 which was third on the team.
Summer (2011): With teammate Jordan Shaw, was a memeber of the United States A2 Junior National Team that won gold in the 2011 European Global Challenge in Pula, Croatia.
Freshman (2010): Named to the All-West Coast Conference Freshman Team…made her Saint Mary's debut on 8/27 vs. UNLV…was a force at the net stuffing 103 total blocks, averaging 1.02 blocks per set both of which was good enough for sixth in the conference…threw down 163 kills on the year averaging 1.61 kills per set…the 163 kills was sixth on the team…finished the year with 218.0 points which was fifth on the team…hit .239 on the season which was fourth on the squad…on 9/24 vs. CS Bakersfield she scorched eight kills on nine swings for an .889 attack percentage which set the new single match record at Saint Mary's…for her efforts she was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week for the first time in her career…recorded 12 matches with five blocks or more and four matches with double-digit kills…in West Coast Conference action she finished second on the team and in the conference in blocks (60) and blocks per set (1.22)…she also recorded 87 kills, averaging 1.78 kills per set which was sixth on the team…had a career-day against Loyola Marymount on 10/23 tallying then career-highs in kills (12) and total blocks (7) in the four set win.
High School: Was a three-time letter winner for La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, CA...while playing for the Mavericks, she helped guide team to multiple post season titles highlighted by a 2008 CIF Division I State Championship, in which she was named to the all-tournament team...her team was ranked No. 1 nationally by both Maxpreps.com and Prepvolleyball.com...helped her club team the Encinitas Wave to a first place ranking of 225 teams the Southern California Volleyball Association 18's Division...that same team was also ranked third nationally by Prepvolleyball.com.
Personal: Born Natalie Renee Loos to parents Dave and Jacquie Loos...chose Saint Mary's because of the size and the communal feeling, as well as the coaching staff and team in general.

Get To Know Natalie Loos Favorite volleyball memory: My favorite volleyball memory at Saint Mary's was being down two sets against BYU and coming back and winning the match. Favorite holiday: Christmas. Or, as it's also known, the day after the twins' birthday. What do you love most about Saint Mary's: I love that Saint Mary's is a little community here in Moraga. What do you love most about SMC Volleyball: I love that we are such a family. Everyone can embody their personalities and they all mesh together. Favorite food or meal: Burritos. I have yet to find a place in Northern California that can rival a San Diego burrito. Top 3 songs: I'm not one to know the names to many songs so this is a tough one. I like pretty much everything except heavy metal. Favorite books: I liked all the Hunger Games books except the last one. Favorite movies: I love all the Austin Powers movies. I also like The Town and Argo; I'm a bit of a Ben Affleck fan. Personal hobbies: I enjoy watching people's video blogs, going to the beach, and relaxing when I get the chance. Personal motto or favorite quote: "Don't get bitter, get better." One thing everyone should do in their lifetime: Travel everywhere! Describe yourself in one word: Goofy. |
