Doug Herrick Named SMC Student-Athlete of the Week

Doug Herrick has been named the Saint Mary's student-athlete of the week as the Gaels defeated No. 25 CSU Bakersfield and No. 7 UC Irvine to advance to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet Sixteen.
In the 1-0 win at CSU Bakersfield, Herrick faced 13 shots and grabbed three saves, helping the Gaels record their 11th shutout of the season.
Against UC Irvine, Herrick made five saves in 103 minutes, allowing just one goal. The senior goalkeeper was busy throughout the night as the Anteaters attempted 14 shots, including 13 corner kicks.
Saint Mary's heads to Providence, Rhode Island to face Brown on Sunday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m. (PT).
