SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Saint Mary's baseball's Edward Haus earned his second Rawlings West Coast Conference Player of the Week award Monday for the week of April 17-23 after hitting .500 and slugging .786 in a perfect 4-0 week for the Gaels.
Haus hit .500, slugged .786 and had an on-base percentage of .611 in helping carry Saint Mary's to an undefeated week. He scored seven runs and drove in five with a home run, double and four walks. He had two multi-hit games and two multi-RBI games during the week.
It was his solo home run in the series opener versus Pacific that tied the game and helped SMC keep pace with the Tigers' powerful lineup before winning 15-9. Haus went 4 for 5 in that game.
Haus also earned WCC Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 27-March 5. Gonzaga's Eli Morgan earned this week's WCC Pitcher of the Week. It's the second time Haus and Morgan earned Player and Pitcher of the Week together, also doing it on March 6.
Haus and the Gaels begin a five-game road trip Tuesday at San Jose State before traveling to first-place Gonzaga for a three-game WCC series on Friday. Fans can tune in to all games on SMCGaels.com/GaelVision.
