Saint Mary's will participate in the Alister Mackenzie Invitational beginning tomorrow at Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif.
MORAGA, Calif. — After playing their first two tournaments out of state this fall, Saint Mary's will return to the Bay Area to compete in the Alister Mackenzie Invitational in Fairfax, Calif. beginning Monday.

THE FIELD
15 teams will attend the tournament including Saint Mary's. The remaining field includes Arizona State, Augusta, Fresno State, Hawai'i, Long Beach State, Oregon State, Pepperdine,
San Diego, San Diego State, San Francisco, San Jose State, Santa Clara, UC Davis, and the host, Cal.
THE LINEUP
Representing the Gaels at the tournament will be Ethan Farnam, Ryan Grauman, Blake Hathcoat, Michael Slesinski, and Ethan Ashbrook. Monday's lineup will feature the same Gaels that were utilized at the Showdown in the Rockies where Saint Mary's finished tied for fourth.
THE COURSE
The Alister Mackenzie Invitational will be played once again at Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif. The course is configured as a par 71 and will stretch 6,734 yards. The first two rounds of the tournament will be played on Monday and the third and final round will conclude on Tuesday.
Saint Mary's is no stranger to the Alister Mackenzie Invitational and have competed each of the last two years. In 2016, the Gaels tied for third in the 15-team field.
Cal has historically dominated their own tournament, winning the last 10 out of 12 Alister Mackenzie Invites. The tourney has been played at Meadow Club each year except for in 2013 when it was played at Sonoma Golf Club.
LAST TIME OUT
Saint Mary's last took the course two weeks ago at the Inverness Invitational in Toledo, Ohio. After a rough opening round, the Gaels shaped up to finish tied for fifth in the 12-team tournament.
Ethan Farnam posted the best overall score for the Gaels at 8-over and finished tied for 17th out of 78 competitors. Blake Hathcoat (9-over) and Michael Slesinski (10-over) followed closely behind Farnam to propel SMC to their fifth place finish.
