Saint Mary's Invitational Round One Results

POPPY HILLS, Calif. — Men's golf embarked on the 13th-annual Saint Mary's Invitational on Monday, remaining amongst the tournament's leaders for the majority of the round.

THE LEADERBOARD
Ryan Graumen was the Gaels' leader in the first round, shooting a 70 (-1) with four birdies on holes one, eight, 13, and 16 to tie for eighth. Both Ethan Farnam and Blake Hathcoat are just five spots behind after shooting an even, 71 while Hathcoat also recorded four birdies. The final scorer for SMC was Ethan Ashbrook whose tie for 46th came by way of a 74 (+3).

FIRST ROUND HIGHLIGHTS

Saint Mary's is tied for third for average scores on par-5s, averaging a -7 as a team on the course's four such holes.
Ashbrook was one of just nine players to record an eagle in the opening round, shooting a three on hole nine (par-5).
BYU's Peter Kuest leads the field heading into the second round after shooting a course record, 61 (-10) in the first 18 holes.
