Saint Mary's will welcome Rice-transfer Paris Fox in anticipation of next season.
MORAGA, Calif. — Following their fall season, the Saint Mary's women's soccer team has signed midfielder Paris Fox to bolster their roster for the 2019-20 season.
Fox will join the Gaels as a sophomore after transferring from Rice University in Houston, Texas where she played in four games as a freshman. Fox has a reputable soccer background as she was a four-year varsity player at her high school, Archbishop Mitty in San Jose, where she also played with current Gael defender, Hailey Prentice.
The 5-10 Fox was named to the 2018 First Team All League Midfielder/Center forward and was the 2018 second leading goal scorer in league play. She played club for Mountain View Los Altos (MVLA) in the ECNL and was also a member of the Northern California PDP program. As a senior, Fox was named to the Top Drawer Soccer All-State Team in 2018.
"Paris is someone who can come in and help us in a few areas of need," said head coach Travis Clarke. "She is great in the air, can connect passes in the midfield and her ball striking is great. We are excited to have her start this January."
"I chose to transfer to Saint Mary's because I wanted to return to my home state of California and be part of a great soccer program in a competitive conference," said Fox. "I am so grateful to be a part of the Saint Mary's community. Go Gaels!"
