SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Saint Mary's men tennis (3-11, 0-2 WCC) battled but dropped a 4-0 decision to Santa Clara (9-6, 1-1 WCC) in a West Coast Conference clash on Sunday afternoon at Degheri Tennis Center.
Damon Kesaris and Nash Vollenweider were locked in a tight doubles match on court 1. The duo trailed 5-4 in an unfinished match as the Broncos took the doubles point with wins on courts 2 and 3.
Kesaris also went unfinished in singles play, as the sophomore was up one set to none. Senior Matthew Campana was on court 3 in an unfinished match that saw close points. On court 6, Daniel Krutik dominated in a 6-1 opening set as his match was the third unfinished match of the day.
SMC will return home to host Loyola Marymount on Friday, March 30 at 2 p.m. at Timothy Korth Tennis Courts. The Gaels will also host Pepperdine on Saturday, March 31 at 2 p.m.
