GOLF | Gaels Conclude Pacific Invitational With Strong Push

Saint Mary's wrapped up action at The Reserve at Spanos Park on Wednesday with strong performances across the board.
STOCKTON, Calif. — The Gaels wrapped up play on Wednesday at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational with Evan Peterson leading the group of four individual competitors.
Peterson bounced back from a tough middle round to shoot his best 18-hole score of the tournament at 2-under. The redshirt senior had an eagle and three birdies on the back nine and finished his round with six straight pars. All told, Peterson was 5-over over three rounds and tied for 50th in the field.
Dylan VanderVeer and Ethan Ashbrook each came in just a few strokes back of Peterson with final totals of 8-over. Both Gaels recorded 73's in the last round which marked their best round scores as well. VanderVeer was 3-under on the back nine while Ashbrook notched four birdies on the front nine.
Ronnie Hun had a steady final round to wrap up his first ever collegiate tournament. The true freshman improved by 10 strokes from Tuesday and had 14 pars and one birdie.
San Jose State's Sean Yu took medalist honors at the event with an 11-under total. The Spartans also finished first among the 16-team field at 16-under.
