XC | Gaels Travel North for NCAA West Regionals On Friday

MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary's women's and men's cross country teams will be competing this weekend at the NCAA West Regionals in Colfax, Washington.
Last time out at the WCC Championships, the Saint Mary's women were able to secure eighth place while three Gaels finished within the top 35. Freshman Rayna Stanziano recorded the fastest time for SMC as she completed the 6K with a time of 21:30.9 which was good enough for 18th place. Sophomore Kaela Dishion was the second place finisher for Saint Mary's as she recorded a time of 21:43.8 to secure 25th place in the race.
The SMC men's team placed ninth overall during the meet while sophomore Anthony Vazquez was the top performer for the Gaels. Vazquez finished the 8K with a race time of 25:36.7 which secured him 47th place in the race. Freshman Lucas Chung finished shortly after with a 25:53.8 finish time and came in 53rd place.
SMC will be competing against a number of ranked teams this weekend including conference rival No. 11 Portland men's team, No. 4 Stanford men's team, No. 2 Stanford women's team, and No. 4 Washington women's team to name a few.
