STOCKTON, Calif. – The Gaels completed their tenth-consecutive win on Wednesday as they beat Pacific and set the new record for longest win-streak in program history.
In their seventh sweep this season, Saint Mary's showed no signs of slowing their hot-streak. Each of the Gael pairs defeated their opponents in straight sets and in only two sets were the Tigers able to score more than 16 points. Jennifer "Boo" Laird and Morgan Kendrick were able to hold the opposing pair to just four points and thus won the match by 17. Freshman Chandler Cowell also found her place in the sand as she collected 11 aces during her match on Wednesday.
QUOTABLE
"Today's matches at the beautiful Pacific courts showed each team how important it to capitalize on control and consistency," said freshman
Chandler Cowell. "Pacific is a good, scrappy team and they challenged us to be the best partner, opponent and player one can be. A great win to continue our winning streak and a great opportunity to improve on our side of the net. What a wonderful day to be Gael and we look to continue growing as we come into the weekend vs Cal."
The Gaels will compete again on Saturday against the No. 12 Cal Bears in Berkeley at 10 a.m.
