Saint Mary's fell against the Wolfpack on Day 1 of Golden Gate Invitational.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Saint Mary's dropped a close match at Day 1 of the Golden Gate Invitational at Sac State as they fell to Nevada, 4-3.

The Gaels claimed the doubles point to begin the day as Damon Kesaris and James Watt earned a 6-4 win on Court 1 while Abhishek Bastola and Matis Bot did as well on Court 2. David Abfalter and Daniel Krutik were also up 5-4 before their match ended.

Kesaris earned another win in singles with a 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 score against Nevada's No.1 Julien Evrard while Krutik defeated Gvidas Motuzas on Court 5 in straight sets. Bastola and Boris Reckow fell in close, three-set matches on Courts 3 and 6, respectively.
