Saint Mary's will play in their final tournament this weekend before playing in the WCC Championships.
MORAGA, Calif. — In their final tune-up before heading to the WCC Championships, Saint Mary's will travel to Provo, Utah for the two-day PING Cougar Classic tournament hosted by No. 35 BYU.

THE FIELD
The field will consist of 15 teams, including two ranked opponents in No. 35 BYU and No. 46 Colorado State. The Gaels sit just outside Golfstat's top-50 at No. 51.
Also competing are Air Force, Boise State, Denver, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, San Diego, Southern Utah, Utah State, Utah Valley, Washington and Wyoming.
THE LINEUP
Saint Mary's will be utilizing their usual lineup once again for the tournament: Blake Hathcoat, Michael Slesinski, Ethan Farnam, Ethan Ashbrook, and Ryan Grauman.
The Gaels will also be bringing Evan Peterson, Ash Hakim, and Dylan VanderVeer to compete as individuals.
TOURNAMENT HISTORY
At the last PING Cougar Classic, held in 2017, BYU took first place with a 22-under final score. Saint Mary's finished tied for fourth with Santa Clara at 9-under.
At the tournament, the Gaels had two competitors finish in the top-3. Pavan Sagoo tied for first at 7-under and his teammate Perry Cohen finished just a stroke behind to tie for third. Blake Hathcoat also competed in the tournament as a freshman and shot 1-over for the third best score in the Gaels' lineup.
THE COURSE
This year's course is configured as a par 72 and is 7,142 yards in length. The shortest hole is a 173-yard par 3 on 3rd while the longest is a 558-yard par 5 on 7th.
Two 18-hole rounds will be played on Friday and the third and final round will be played on Saturday. Saint Mary's is set to begin the first round at 8 a.m. on the 10th hole.
