MORAGA, Calif. – After going 3-1 at the Mid-Season Conference Tournament last weekend, the No. 18 Gaels look to face Santa Clara on Wednesday and Saturday.  

SCOUTING REPORT
The Gaels are coming off of a winning weekend in Santa Cruz and have improved their record to 13-6 on the season. The squad swept the first three matches of the tournament, one against Santa Clara and two against San Francisco, before securing second place in the tournament following a 4-1 loss to LMU. Seniors Sarah Chase and Lindsey Knudsen are currently on a five-match winning streak and have defeated their last four opponents in straight sets. The pair has only lost four matches this season out of the 19 they have played and with their total of 15 wins, they are currently the winningest duo on the team. Seniors Emily Bible and Lindsey Calvin are also heating up the sand as of late and have won four of their last five matches.

SANTA CLARA
After a busy weekend at the Mid-Season Conference Tournament, the Broncos went 2-3 against WCC teams. After being swept by SMC in the opening match of the tourney, Santa Clara went on to beat San Francisco 4-1 on Friday and then Pacific 4-1 in the first match on Saturday. The squad was next swept by LMU and placed in the third place match. The Broncos lost by a single set to San Francisco after the Dons took wins in the second, third, and fourth positions. Santa Clara has a record of 2-5 this season and had played just two matches prior to the mid-season tournament.
