Matoso Announces Staff Promotions, Realignment

Reggiani, Gray Promoted to Deputy Athletics Directors

MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's College Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Matoso announced today promotions throughout his staff and internal realignment, including adjustments to sport supervision.
 
Matoso made changes to his senior leadership team, promoting Ryan Reggiani to Deputy Athletics Director for External Operations, Kami Gray to Deputy Athletics Director for Internal Operations and Tom Carroll to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Advancement.
 
Reggiani will now be the sport supervisor for men's basketball, men's soccer and women's soccer and will oversee all facets of external relations including, revenue generation, ticketing, marketing, communications, new media, event management and facilities.
 
Gray will now oversee women's basketball, volleyball and softball and all areas of internal operations including academic support, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, business operations, compliance and equipment.
 
Carroll will oversee baseball and golf and will continue to lead all athletic fundraising, including team funds, capital campaigns and events, and continue to serve as the Advancement Office liaison for Athletics.
 
"Our staff has accomplished a lot in the past two years, they are well deserving of these promotions," Matoso said. "I believe we have a strong athletic administration and leadership team in place and they are the core that keeps this department moving forward."
 
Matoso promoted Piper Brewster to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and she will also become the sport supervisor for rowing and men's and women's cross country and track and field. Kari Montero was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Academic Support and will sport supervise men's tennis and Staci Byrne was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Academic Support and will sport supervise women's tennis.
 
Externally, Ed Arnold was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Event Management and Sam Holden was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Facilities.
 
Internally, Caitlin Luquet was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Internal Operations and externally Jimmy Quintanilla was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Ticketing.
