DAVIS, Calif. — Saint Mary's continued play on Saturday at the Aggie Invitational and earned five wins among the consolation draw with four of those coming in singles play.
Akbarmirzo Mamirov cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over his opponent from Holy Names as did Jackson Hawk who won 6-4, 6-4. Karlo Divkovic faced Manroop Saini from Pacific and was victorious 6-2, 6-4 while Andy Watterson defeated Sonoma State's Marco Alvarez in straight sets.
In consolation doubles, Hawk and Watterson edged out a 8-6 win over a mixed tandem from Pacific and UC Davis. Saint Mary's two pairs who their doubles matches yesterday in the first round fell on Saturday. Matis Bot and Divkovic were narrowly defeated by Santa Clara's Iliopoulos/Neuhaus 8-7(3).
After going 2-0 yesterday in singles, Boris Reckow was beaten by the draw's top seed, Julian Evrard of Nevada, 7-6(5), 6-2.
