MSOC | Restani Stings Hornets in 4-0 Win

Saint Mary's recorded a 4-0 victory over Sacramento State on Sunday for their sixth clean sheet of the season.

MORAGA, Calif. –  No. 6 Saint Mary's recorded a 4-0 shutout victory over Sacramento State on Sunday afternoon after Joseph Restani and Lucas Andrews provided the goals for the Gaels.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Joseph Restani put the Gaels on the board in the 30th minute for their first goal of the contest. Following a corner kick, Anders Engebretsen dribbled along the left endline and found Restani waiting in the six yard box for a tap-in goal.

Restani continued his hot streak in the 60th minute as Fillipo Zattarin notched a pass to Engebretsen who then fed Restani the ball allowing him to launch it into the right corner of the net for the Gaels' second tally. The senior would go on to complete the hat trick for his fifth goal this week when Jake Rudel sent a cross into the box and Restani volleyed it into the back of the net in the 70th minute.

Lucas Andrews recorded Saint Mary's fourth and final goal as Paul Ramsey set up Andrews for an easy score from the left side of the box in the 82nd minute. The goal for Andrews was his second of the season.

Saint Mary's demonstrated a strong offensive performance as they put up 27 shots, their most shots taken in a single game this season. The Gaels dominated in the offensive half with 10 corner kicks and allowed just two while only giving up six shots during the contest.

Remi Prieur was only forced to make two saves in the contest with one coming in each half. The win for Prieur was his sixth shutout this season.

In the 45th minute of action, a Hornet defender received a red card forcing Sacramento State to have one less player on the field for the rest of the contest.
