WBB | WCC Schedule Announced for 2020-21

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — The West Coast Conference announced the WCC matchups for all 10 women's basketball programs this morning with the first games taking place on Dec. 28. The 18-game round robin format will be played out over the course of 10 weeks as it has in the past.

However, Saint Mary's will not begin play on Dec. 28 as they have an immediate bye and will instead open their conference schedule on the 30th in Moraga against Pacific. The Gaels then hit the road for a two-game set against Gonzaga and Portland later in the week before returning to play Santa Clara and San Francisco inside UCU Pavilion.

Another long road trip awaits the Gaels as they fly to Provo for a Jan. 14 matchup with BYU before taking a trip down south to face San Diego two days later.

For the next four weeks, SMC will remain in the Bay Area. They play Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount at home and finish off the month with rematches against Portland and Gonzaga inside the Pavilion. The Gaels then head across the Bay Bridge to face San Francisco on Feb. 4 followed by a contest at Santa Clara on Feb. 6 before returning home for their final two home games of the regular season.

Saint Mary's welcomes San Diego to Moraga on Feb. 11 and then hosts BYU on Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 13. The Gaels round out their conference slate with three straight road games at LMU, Pepperdine, and Pacific over the next two weeks.

After an injury-riddled previous season, the Gaels will look to get back to their winning ways in the 2020-21 campaign. Prior to the last year, the Gaels were 65-25 in conference action dating back to the 2014-15 season.
