SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Saint Mary's forward Finau Tonga was named the WCC's Freshman of the Week presented by University Credit Union for her contributions during the team's two games last week.

Tonga averaged 11.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game during Saint Mary's contests against VCU and Stephen F. Austin. The forward had 10 boards against VCU in the season opener and then led the Gaels in scoring on Friday against the Ladyjacks with 16 points.

The Taylorsville, Utah native currently leads SMC in field goal percentage (52.3) and offensive rebounds (9). She is tied for second in scoring and second in total rebounds as well.

Saint Mary's returns to the court today against Arizona State for the final contest of the Global Sports and Events MTE. Tipoff is set at 3:00 p.m. and the game will be live streamed by the Pac-12. Links for the contest can be found on the team's schedule page.
