MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's women's basketball team has gotten back in the win column over the last two weeks, winning three straight games and improving to 8-4 overall. Last week, the Gaels returned home for the first time in 24 days and held on for the 60-57 victory over Fresno State for their third consecutive win. Leading the charge was redshirt junior Addi Wedin who finished with a career high 17 points on 6-7 shooting to be named this week's Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week.
The Oregon native made her eighth start of the season and has played a big role offensively for the Gaels after missing the entire 2024-25 season due to injury. In her 27 minutes of action, Addi Wedin led the team with a career high 17 points on an efficient 6-7 shooting. Wedin was also perfect from beyond the arc, adding a trio of three-pointers for her fifth game this season with multiple three-pointers made. Wedin now leads the team in scoring, averaging nine points per game while also shooting 48% from the field, 44% from three and 88% from the free throw line. This is her second career department student-athlete of the week award and her first since January of 2024.
Saint Mary's will conclude their non-conference schedule and play host to New Mexico State this Saturday, December 20th at 2:00 PM. Tickets can be bought online at smcgaels.com/tickets and you can catch all the action live on ESPN+.
