SCOUTING REPORT
Saint Mary's won their first series of the season last weekend as they took two games out of three against the Seton Hall Pirates. In Friday's doubleheader, the Gaels put up 12 runs compared to the Pirates who were only able to score two. SMC has now won four of their last five contests, having only dropped the series opener against Seton Hall. Gael run production has been up in the last few games as they have scored 24 runs in the month of March across a five-game span while they scored 20 runs in the whole month of February. Saint Mary's is now 6-0 in games where they have scored more than two runs and 0-8 in games where they have scored less than two. SMC is 5-3 at home following last weekend as they look to host their last two games of the nine-game homestand against UC Davis and Nevada.

Freshman Christopher Campos has been heating up at the plate as he had a stellar weekend against the Pirates and went 5-for-11 across the three games. During Friday's doubleheader, Campos recorded three doubles, four RBIs, and not a single strikeout. He is now batting an even .300, which is second only to team-leading junior Gio Diaz (.396). Campos has 15 hits on the season and a slugging percentage of .400 as well as a .375 on-base percentage. Sophomore Kyle Velazquez has also been finding success in the batter's box as he went 4-for-9 against Seton Hall over the weekend. Velazquez recorded two doubles and an RBI in the first game of Friday's doubleheader as he started all three games at shortstop.

UC DAVIS
The Aggies are 9-6 so far this season and most recently took a series victory against Mount St. Mary's over the weekend. UC Davis took game one and game three versus the Mount and they were able to accumulate 15 runs in the final game of the series. The Aggies have won three of their four series matchups this season including wins against Utah and North Dakota State. The team has only played two games on the road this season as they own a 1-1 record on opponent's fields and an 8-5 record on their home field. The Aggies and the Gaels last faced off on May 1, 2018 when Saint Mary's took the 7-2 victory over UC Davis. SMC has won five of the last seven games against the Aggies.

UC Davis has a number of heavy hitters in their lineup this season as they have three batters with 20 or more hits on the season. Redshirt-junior Spencer Gedestad currently leads the team with 24 hits and a batting average of .421, as well as six doubles and eight RBIs. Junior Tanner Murray is close behind with 22 hits and a .324 batting average, however Murray has seven doubles, three triples and a home run. On the mound, junior Brett Erwin has been a strong starter for the Aggies with a 2.14 ERA through four starts and 21.0 innings pitched. He has allowed 20 hits but just five earned runs and he has only given up four extra base hits on the season.

NEVADA
The Wolfpack have had a tough start to their season as they are 2-11 and just won their first game of the season on March 6. Nevada opened the season with a 10-game losing streak and they allowed 33 runs to be scored against them in the season-opening series against Portland. The Wolfpack are 0-6 in away contests this season with their two wins having come at home. The team has scored four or more runs in four of their games this season and they have been outscored by a margin of 53, with Nevada scoring 31 runs compared to 84 from opponents. Last time the Gaels and the Wolfpack met, the game went to 12 innings before Saint Mary's was able to claim the 6-5 victory. SMC has won eight of the last nine matchups versus Nevada.

Senior Dillan Shrum is currently leading the Wolfpack offense as he has 12 hits and a batting average of .267. Shrum has recorded four doubles, six RBIs, and three home runs on the season thus far. His team-leading OPS is .933 with a combined slugging percentage of .556 and an on-base percentage of .377. Junior Joshua Zamora is close behind with a .250 batting average and 13 hits on the season. Zamora has recorded two doubles and two RBIs at this point in the season. Junior Jake Jackson has been Nevada's go-to starter as he has a 3.00 ERA through 24.0 innings pitched and four starts.
