MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary's athletics department recently announced a new partnership with Athlete Network to bolster the student-athlete experience for former, current, and future Gaels.
The partnership will expand career advancement resources, including a mentoring program, while also providing cutting edge data and reporting to athletic administrators.
"We are excited to partner with Athlete Network," said Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Matoso. "We feel like this opportunity will be great for continuing to grow the strong bond between Gael alumni and our current student-athletes while providing more professional development opportunities."
Associate Athletics Director for Student Services Kari Montero added, "We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Athlete Network. It has been such a great partnership and the branded network is an exciting next step. It will be an amazing resource for not only our current student-athletes, but a way to continue to serve our alumni student-athletes as well."
Saint Mary's is the first West Coast Conference member to join the network. Other universities who also utilize Athlete Network include UNLV, Hawai'i, Fresno State, and Utah State.
"The athletic administrators at Saint Mary's place an extremely high value on academics and providing future opportunities for their student-athletes, including career services and keep them engaged with their team and the athletics department," said Brett Fuller, VP of Partnerships at Athlete Network. "Through their network, the athletic department will not only be able to offer their services in one convenient location, but analyze their own data to monitor the utilization of those services and ensure a beneficial relationship is maintained with their athletes for life."
