XCTF | 8th-Annual Texas Hold’em Tournament to be Virtual

MORAGA, Calif. — On August 21, the Saint Mary's Cross Country and Track program will be hosting its eighth-annual Texas Hold'em Tournament benefitting their team funds, but this year, will be with a twist. Given current restrictions on large gatherings, this year's Texas Hold'em Tournament will be held virtually for the first time in event history.
While the concept of virtual Texas Hold'em might sound strange, SMC is teaming up with Pokerstars.net to host this year's virtual event. There is no cost to participate, meaning it is absolutely free to play and have your chance at winning a vacation package to Lake Tahoe.
"The Texas Hold'em Event has grown each year and with COVID-19 restrictions, we are grateful to offer this FREE event online and bring together our strong community of Saint Mary's Cross Country and Track alumni, parents, fans and more to continue to find ways to support the Gaels," head coach Marty Kinsey said. "We hope to bring in $10,000 in donations on the night. We can't do it without you so, we hope to see you there!"
Throughout the evening, there will be a corresponding Zoom event that will feature coach Kinsey interviewing alumni, student-athletes, parents, boosters, and others. This will be your chance to make donations to the men's and women's cross country and track programs at Saint Mary's and reach the team's goal for the evening.
