

MT&F | Gaels Post Multiple Top-10 Finishes, Spillane Wins 3000m at Cal All Comers

BERKELEY, Calif. — The Saint Mary's men's track and field team competed at the Cal All Comers on Saturday morning, turning in strong performances in both the 3000m and 1500m.
Oisin Spillane continued his impressive season, leading the Gaels in the 3000 meters and finishing first overall in a field of 86 runners, clocking in at 8:19.95. Following him was Foster Wilfong, who snatched second place in 8:22.02. Jacob Moffett took fourth and earned his personal best time of 8:25.56. Jason Habash (sixth) and Anthony Erikson (seventh) also turned in top 10 finishes, each recording personal bests of 8:27.54 and 8:28.24, respectively.
In his first collegiate 3000-meter competition, Alan Solari took 11th place in 8:37.53. Also competing in the 3000m for the first time were Jacob Schuetze (9:03.68), Jack McGuire (9:17.95), Aiden Tarantino (9:23.35), and Connor McGhee (9:27.95). Earning new personal bests were Andrew Perez and Anthony Sharp who crossed the finish line in 9:07.98 and 9:11.57, respectively.
In the 1500 meters, Spencer Wirshing led the way for the Gaels in a field of 108 runners, finishing in seventh overall with a time of 4:04.31. Noah Pagaran followed him in ninth place with a time of 4:08.40, while Moss Michelsen came in 12th in 4:10.90. Zack Springer competed in his first 1500m, earning a 19th place finish and clocking in with a time of 4:16.29.
The Gaels will return to the track on March 6 at the Golden Gate Track Fest in San Francisco.
