

MT&F | Gaels Finish Month Strong at Inland Northwest Invitational

SPOKANE, Wash. — Saint Mary's Men's Track and Field team ended the month on a strong note on Saturday at the Inland Northwest Invitational, highlighted by personal bests, strong finishes, and multiple athletes making their debut in new events.
In the mile, Oisin Spillane finished second overall in a field of 52 runners, earning a personal best with a time of 4:13.82. Jason Habash followed closely behind, placing fifth overall with a season best 4:15.36, while Anthony Erikson took eighth and earned his new personal best of 4:16.43. Junior Jacob Moffett placed 12th overall and recorded his personal best of 4:20.78, and freshman Jacob Schuetze improved his best time to 4:29.34. Andrew Perez and Jackson Woolf competed in their first collegiate mile event, finishing in 4:35.27 and 4:40.52, respectively.
The Gaels took the top three spots in the 800 meters, as Alan Solari, Spencer Wirshing, and Jason Habash finished in first, second, and third overall. Solari led the way with a season best 1:53.97, followed by Wirshing (1:54.20) and Habash (1:54.21). In his first collegiate 800 meter-race, Sharp finished in ninth overall with a time of 1:56.26. Erikson (1:57.47) and Schuetze (2:03.11) also competed in the event for the first time, finishing in 14th and 22nd overall. Moffett and Perez strove for their personal bests, clocking times of 2:00.40 and 2:06.84, respectively.
Foster Wilfong (8:29.91) and Oisin Spillane (8:31.82) represented the Gaels in the 3000, finishing in 8th and 11th overall in a field of 37 runners.
The Gaels will look to carry this momentum into their next competition at the Cal All Comers Meet on Saturday, February 21st in Berkeley.
