Ethan Ashbrook Named Bay Alarm Student-Athlete of the Week

MORAGA, Calif. — Men's golfer Ethan Ashbrook has been named the Bay Alarm Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance over the weekend at the West Coast Conference Championship in Henderson, Nev.
Ashbrook was the team's top performer in all three rounds of the tournament with scores of 72-68-66. The junior was 10-under overall and finished tied for third, just one stroke back of the two medalists. Ashbrook's 6-under score in the final round was also the second-best single round score during the tournament. He didn't post a single bogey in that round.
SMC came in fourth at the Championship marking the 17th time in the past 19 seasons they've finished fourth or higher. For Ashbrook, it was the second time in as many tournaments that he's been the Gaels' top performer aftering grabbing a top-10 result at the Cougar Classic in late April.
The NCAA Selection Show will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. to determine which teams will be headed to Regionals. SMC has made the postseason in each of the last five seasons.
