MORAGA, Calif. — With the fall semester set to begin in a matter of days, Saint Mary's Rowing is excited to announce tryout information for the Novice Rowing team. The rowing season is slated to begin in the fall and will roll over into the spring semester, giving students a unique opportunity to compete on a year-round basis.
Anyone who is interested in learning how to row is able to signup - you don't have to have any previous rowing experience. As a matter of fact, some of the best rowers beyond the collegiate level did not have any rowing experience prior to college. If you want to be an athlete and have the ability to work hard and be a good teammate, then you can be a rower.
Students interested in joining should email head coach Anna Pytlak or sign up on our Google Form (HERE) and come to our Novice Orientation Meeting on September 8 at 7:30pm in the Soda Center.
SMC Rowing will also be at the Student Involvement Fair on September 1 and those interested can stop by with any questions.
Last year, the Gaels earned two spots on the postseason All-WCC Rowing Team, as well as seven student-athletes being named All-Academic WCC. For more information on one of those All-WCC Gaels, click HERE to read our recent Gael Spotlight on Emily Sprigings and her path to collegiate rowing.
