GOLF | Gaels Climb Four Spots in Round Two

BREMERTON, Wash. - The Saint Mary's Golf Team played their first two rounds of the season on day one of the Husky Invitational, competing in a team and individual tournament.

The Gaels improved their team score by seven strokes from round one to round two climbing from 11th overall to 7th in the team standings. Saint Mary's finished day one five under par in a tournament where the Gaels came prepared for potentially inclement weather but had clear skies on the first day.

On the individual side, Connor Reis leads the way for the Gaels and improved his score from round one to two, shooting a 70 in round two after a 74 in round one to finish two under par and move up nine spots in the standings. Jonathan Curran currently has the second-best score of any Gael with a 145 and is just one over par.

The Gaels will look to keep moving in the right direction in round three as they did from rounds one to two on Tuesday.
