ROW | Gaels Earn Experience Against Lumberjacks
10/22/2022 4:53:00 PM | Women's Rowing
ORINDA, Calif. – The Saint Mary's Women's Rowing Team were in action for this first time this season, as they faced off against Cal Poly Humboldt on a calm, brisk morning at Briones Reservoir.
The Gaels and the Lumberjacks treated the matchup like a scrimmage, with both teams being able to compete with lower circumstances. They competed in five 1250-meter races, as the Gaels had two eight-person boats to the Lumberjacks four.
The two boats Saint Mary's competed with are listed below.
Head Coach Brian Ebke was happy with how his team performed in their first outing of the season, "We enjoyed some exciting, back and forth racing with Humboldt this morning at home on Briones. All our athletes raced well and learned a little bit more about how to go fast against some strong competition" said Ebke.
"We're excited about the daily progress we are making and eager to put it on display next weekend at the Head of the American. Thanks to Cal Poly Humboldt for great competition across the entire workout, and for being gracious guests on and off the water."

The Gaels will head to Folsom next Saturday October 29 to compete at Lake Natoma in the Head of the American competition.
