MTEN | UC Davis Wins 6-1 Over Gaels in Dual-Match Play

DAVIS, Calif. – Saint Mary's Men's Tennis' first win in dual-match play remains elusive as the Gaels fell to UC Davis 6-1 this weekend.

The Gaels got a 6-4 doubles match win from James Watt and Caelan Potts over Andrei Volgin and Mitchell Davis, but the Aggies took two out of three to win the doubles competition.

Newcomer Thibaud Maxant got a win in the singles portion, defeating Mitchell Davis 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. The Gaels had three other singles matches go to three sets, including the second set of Pott's singles match, but the Aggies would take the other five matches.

The Gaels will play their dual-match home opener this Sunday vs. Sacramento State at 1:00 p.m.
