STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Saint Mary's Golf finished third of 14 teams at the team's first appearance in the Rutherford Intercollegiate hosted by Penn State University this weekend, with two freshmen finishing in the top six.

Kristian Bressum finished third overall and
Mitchell Hoey finished sixth among 78 golfers, flipping spots in the individual standings from day one.

Bressum finished 1-under par shooting a 212 overall, Hoey finished at 215, and both made an eagle. The Gaels made par the most of any team at the tournament, the third most par threes of the course, and the second most par fours.

Saint Mary's was tied for the most eagles with Maryland and Penn State, and Bressum had the most par fives made of any golfer, along with leading the Gaels in birdies with nine.

Ryan Hartanto was 12th in par threes made and second in birdies made on the Gaels with eight, and
Michael Slesinski was eighth in par fours to lead SMC.
