GOLF | Season Finale at BYU This Weekend

PROVO, Utah – Saint Mary's Golf will play in the Ping Cougar Classic hosted by BYU on April 22 and 23 for their final tournament of the regular season. The Gaels have finished seventh in their last two appearances at the Ping Cougar Classic. They had one of the program's top performances there from Blake Hathcoat in 2019 with a 64 in round two and for a 36-hole total when he shot a 134 to finish 10-under.
Tournament Schedule
• Currently, the first and second rounds will be played continuously beginning with a
9:00 a.m. MDT shotgun due to forecasted rain on Friday, April 22.
• If weather permits, first round tee-times will be from 8:00-10:00 a.m. off the 1st and
10th tees. The second round will follow with tee times from 1:00-3:00 p.m. MDT.
Saturday, April 23
• Currently the final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. MDT. If weather
permits, tee times will be sent out Friday night following the second round.
Tournament Format
Team Championship Format
• Four of five scores will be counted each round.
• In the event of a first-place tie, there will be a team playoff.
• If there is not sufficient time for a playoff, the fifth individual score will be used to
break the tie.
• If still tied the three round totals of the fifth score will be used to break the tie.
• If still tied the third-round total of the fourth score will be used.
Individual Championship
• A tie for the individual championship will be broken by a sudden death playoff.
Playoff will begin on hole #1, if time permits.
